The arrival of Hatsune Miku themed negi noodles on Akiba’s streets, dyed a suitably unappetising shade of green and hawked by a Miku-cosplayer, is once again reminding all just why otaku culinary creations are renowned for their ghastliness rather than their palatability.
The dish in question is “negishio ita-yakisoba,” based on an actual dish (negishio yakisoba, salty fried noodles with scallions) but with the addition of garish colouring, and being sold on the streets of Akihabara in aid of a nearby “cosplay izakaya”:

On an even more unsavoury note, one otaku gourmand advises diners to check the colour of their droppings as they will likely be dyed a similar colour…
